Ghost Hunting - The Art of a Successful Ghost Hunt Event
By Hazel Ford
Haunted Happenings is a unique ghost hunting company. We ensure that all of our events fully involve our guests in making this a ghost hunting experience to remember. The guests work with the paranormal team and are part of the investigation. They are taught how to manage themselves during vigils and how to allow themselves to interpret how they feel. Each ghost hunt is unique and is respected as such. Every guest goes through the ghost hunt investigation becoming more and more aware of any spirit or ghost activity around them. They carry out experiments using the ghost hunting equipment and can decipher their findings with the paranormal team during the ghost hunt itself.
A successful ghost hunt is not necessarily when there is a lot of activity because although this can be frightening and what people have come for, it can’t be deciphered correctly whilst there is no structure or support within the framework of the ghost hunt itself. Therefore people can feel very uncertain about what they may have seen or heard if it has not been discussed and put into context within the boundaries and controls of the ghost hunt format. I know that people can want to run off and carry out their own vigils and seances without interference from others. It is my belief that they are not always prepared for what may happen during their time alone. It is therefore important as part of the team to allow your guests to feel that they are doing their own vigils but the reality is that we monitor them closely and keep our eye on how they are feeling after their lone vigil.
In conclusion I would say that a successful ghost hunt is not so much what happens on a paranormal level but how much energy and enthusiasm is maintained during the episodes when nothing is happening. This is when we have to work our hardest to keep the ’spirits’ of our guests raised and interested,

Ghosts Subjected To Research
By Sean M. Clarke
The term ‘ghost’ generically refers to various types of subtle (invisible) bodies such as demons, devils, witches, etc. who have the intention of harming others. The Spiritual Science Research Foundation has undertaken extensive research on ghosts in order to demystify this widespread phenomenon and help people in recognising and treating the adverse effects caused by ghosts through proven methodology according to the Spiritual science.
Ghosts (demons, devils, spirits) though neither visible to the gross eye, nor perceived by the other sense organs, mind and intellect are factors that affect all mankind. The manifestations of distress due to ghosts can be from a person displaying uncharacteristic behaviour to erratic display of violence, addictions, various physical and psychological illnesses, family problems, business problems, etc.
1. Ghost characteristics
2. Who can become a ghost?
People who have died with unfulfilled desires, personality defects, negative impressions in the mind, high ego, who have harmed others and/or have the basic nature of harming others. Most importantly people who have not done spiritual practice according to the basic principles of Spirituality while alive are likely to become ghosts in their afterlife.
3. What is the meaning of being ‘affected by ghosts’?
Being affected by ghosts (demons, devils, spirits, etc.) is when the physical, mental, intellectual or spiritual functioning of a person or any combination thereof is affected or altered by the ghosts entirely through the use of ghosts’ black energy without direct intervention by the ghosts. Consequently, there is no direct controlling of the mind and intellect of the affected person.
However the ghost affects that aspect of the person, which is most conducive to achieving its objective; either of troubling that person, fulfilling its own desire, or preventing spiritual practice, etc.
4. What is demonic possession?
Demonic possession is when ghosts (demons, devils, spirits, etc.) control the mind (emotions, thoughts) and intellect (decision making ability) of a person. As a result, they also control the person’s actions.
In a possession, ghost (demon, devil, spirit) is actively involved in controlling the mind and intellect as a means to harm the person. In almost all cases, the person possessed does not know that he/she is possessed, until it manifests in a dramatic way as shown in the Hollywood movie ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’.
5. Spiritual strength wins
In the subtle realms of our existence, spiritual strength is the most important currency. Out of the person targeted for attack and the attacking ghost, whoever is spiritually stronger wins. If the ghost has more spiritual strength than the person to be attacked, then the ghost can affect or possess the person at will. If a person has a higher spiritual level, his defense against a ghost attack is stronger as a result of his own spiritual strength accrued with spiritual practice, and consequently the protection that he/she receives from God is also higher.
6. Solution
Initiate one’s spiritual practice and maintain its regularity so as to build protection from ghost attacks.

Ghost Ships - True Stories of Nautical Nightmares, Hauntings and Disasters by Richard Winer
By Alan G. Scott
The cover of Winer’s Ghost Ships trumpets him as the New York Times best-selling author of The Devil’s Triangle, released in the early seventies. A quick search on Amazon.com shows not many works since then until Ghost Ships, copyrighted in 2000.
Although Winer cites one ‘ghost ship’ incident in 1998, the remainder of paranormal episodes in his 33-chapter, 265-page chronology occur prior to 1978. The lion’s share of the spooky events takes place between the beginning of the twentieth century and the completion of World War II. The one post-1978 story is about a ship that disappeared without a trace in 1998 during Hurricane Mitch, one of the most powerful and deadliest hurricanes recorded in the Atlantic basin. Gasp.
It seems as though Winer conducted his research into the ghost ships immediately after the success of The Devil’s Triangle, but never carried through on the project. Until now. I got the feeling that Winer needed to publish again after a long dry spell, so he pulled his notes from long ago, threw in a couple of recent incidents and released Ghost Ships.
The book focuses on vessels found with no one on board or that vanished without a trace. Only a handful of the stories actually chronicle paranormal phenomenon.
Winer’s work has few surprises and no scares but is rich in history. Although the book doesn’t deliver on ghosts, it does have a number of interesting chapters in maritime history, including a number of WWII tales that weren’t mentioned in the history books.
If you’re looking for ghosts or horror, search elsewhere. Unsolved mysteries? This can be the place.

True Ghost Stories Help Us to Learn About the Paranormal World
By David Slone
If you ever had a personal experience with a ghost or you know of any true ghost stories you will probably want to know what type of spirit, entity or energy was responsible. This is easier to determine with a repetitive haunting than with a one time sighting, but if you are very observant you should be able to narrow it down.
Did the story or experience involve an actual real ‘live’ ghost or was it more like a recording, or perhaps a poltergeist? There are a lot of paranormal phenomenon that are often mistaken for ghosts. Poltergeists, for example, aren’t actually real ghosts, but are forms of psychic energy. Some hauntings are more like a movie in which a precise scene is played. This type of haunting often runs on a schedule. The ghost will be seen to go through the same motions or routine and will appear not to be aware of the living. If the ghost notices, or interacts with you it is definitely not an energy recording.
When you actually encounter a ghost or paranormal phenomenon it can be difficult to keep a cool head and really see what is happening. Don’t let fear knock you out of learning. If you panic or turn away in fear you may miss witnessing a fascinating event. However, fear is usually the first emotion to hit a person when they come into contact with something from the ‘other side’. It’s only natural to fear the unknown, but don’t let it control you. The more you are able to observe and write down the more you will be able to understand about what is happening.
While I have no doubt of the existence of ghosts I know that their interactions with humans can be rare. Perhaps I should say their interaction with perceptive humans. It does seem that some people have more of a propensity to see or feel paranormal presences than others. One person may have had numerous experiences with the paranormal while ten others have had none. We tend to base our beliefs upon our experiences. People that have never witnessed a paranormal event tend not to believe while those who have had personal experiences do.
Many times our knowledge about ghosts and the paranormal isn’t derived from our own experiences, but come from stories we hear from others. Real ghost stories, especially those passed down through the years in many of our families, can be valuable sources for information. These stories can help us to gain a better understanding of what ghosts and the paranormal really are. If it has been a long time since you heard the ghost stories and perhaps you don’t recall them well enough ask your parents or grandparents to tell them to you when you get the first chance.

When we hear ghost stories from others do we really listen? Don’t just shrug it off, there may be a lot of truth in those ghost stories. Often a true ghost story is passed down through a particular family. Perhaps it happened to one of your grandparents and you grew up hearing it or maybe it even happened to you personally. Either way there are hardly any of us who don’t know about several ghost stories that are told as to be true.
If you would like to read true ghost stories and learn more about paranormal subjects like poltergeists, electronic voice phenomenon, different types of hauntings, ghost pictures and more visit True Ghost Tales - http://www.trueghosttales.com
The next time you hear, or read a true ghost story, remember the paranormal world is real and ghosts do exist and they do so independently of our beliefs on the matter.

Who Wants to Go Ghost Hunting?
By Steve Kettle
Who wants to go ghost hunting? Investigating ghosts, or a more popular term, ghost hunting, is gaining in popularity as more and more television shows on the subject surface each season. With that in mind I’ll ask it another way. Do you want to go ghost hunting?
There are many reasons why one would consider the possible exploration of the paranormal. Maybe you want to explore the possibilities of life after death. Perhaps you just want to experience the thrill of a paranormal encounter. What ever the reason one thing is for certain. Ghost hunting can make your hair stand on end!
We’ve all heard tales of how certain buildings and houses are haunted. I would venture that there are several in your own town that carry such a legend. Are you brave enough to find out for yourself?
If you are up to the challenge of investigating the ghost’s hangouts in your area here are some do’s and dont’s.
First some do’s. Do get permission from the so called haunted property’s owner before beginning your ghost hunt. Tell the owner precisely what your intentions are. Give as many details as possible. Tell them the date and time you intend to do your investigation. Get permission to take photographs and offer to share any information you obtain.
Also, make sure you have flashlights with extra batteries, a good digital camera and, if possible, a map or outline of the house or building you are going to investigate. If the haunted house is vacant there won’t be any electricity and the map will help you find your way around.
Don’t rearrange anything you may find inside the property. If you want to get other owners to give you permission for future ghost hunting you will want a good recommendation from previous owners.
Most importantly, don’t hunt alone! This is not because of the fear factor. You will want witnesses to any thing supernatural or paranormal. When more than one person can tell the exact same story it tends to have added credibility.
Who wants to go ghost hunting? After reading this article I hope many of you will schedule a hunt. Seek out the most talked about haunted house in your area and plan an evening you won’t soon forget.
Are you brave enough to go ghost hunting? Do you want to know how to photograph ghosts? Come on! Don’t be chicken. Check out do you want to go Ghost Hunting. That is, if you have the nerve!

Paranormal - Entering The Spirit World
By Lisa Page
Most people don’t believe in ghosts, but they are among us. At least that’s what people have thought since the beginning of time. Long before written word ghosts stories have been passed along. Members of societies believing in spirits claimed to have seen the spirits of their dead ancestors. Many ancient seers would call upon spirits or the dead to foretell the future. It wasn’t until the first century A.D. that these ghostly tales & legends were written done.
Two thousand years later, people still believe in ghosts. Too many people are reporting seeing spectres and ghostly phenomena for us to ignore the possibility that something must be out there! But, what is everyone hearing, seeing, or experiencing?
Before I go any further, I want to clarify a few things, make sure we are all on the same page. Not everyone means the same thing when they say the word ghost. There are many simple yet misunderstood words that are specific to the study of ghostly phenomena.
The majority of people use the word “ghost” to mean any phantom object. What they really mean is a spirit of a being that has passed on. In my posts when I refer to a “ghosts” I am referring to the latter. I bet some of you are wondering what the difference is? Most reports of ghostly phenomena throughout the centuries, have been of things that were never human. People have reported seeing spectral animals or phantom trains. These objects were never human, and the obviously never had a soul or spirit.
Paranormals researchers use the word “apparition” to describe a visual appearance of a disembodied entity. This describes all types of phantoms, whether they are human or not. An example of a apparition would be seeing an angel beside your bed, you wouldn’t call it a ghost, right? I know most of you would never make this distinction when talking to your friends on the street but, investigators feel that’s its best to stick with the word apparition unless of course you actually mean a ghost. An easy way to look at it is all ghosts are apparitions but not all apparitions are ghosts.
Here is a list of other words that are used to describe a ghost or apparition:
Then of course there are poltergeists which, is a completely different thing. (I will discuss them in a later post.)
There are many different kinds of apparitions . Did you know that some keep to a schedule? There are some that are only seen once. An example of this would be the case of a luminous ghost of a boy that appeared in Corby Castle in Cumberland, England, one night only, September 8, 1824. Some appear at a certain date or time. Yet others will appear on the anniversary of a certain date. Phantom hitchhikers are know to appear on the anniversary of their death. Then of course their are the ones that take up residence at a place that they were someone connected to when they were alive. These ghosts are seen more frequently.
The person who sees the apparition is called the percipient and the apparition is called the agent. Agent is used especially when you refer to an apparition that intentionally makes itself disable. It wants to be seen, usually because it has a message to give.
